REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS/ CALL FOR ARTWORK & VENDORS

ART AVE 2024 APPLICATION

About the Program: 
Art Ave began as an initiative of the Daybreak Arts Council in 2019 and is a yearly rotating outdoor public art display. Artwork of all sizes may be submitted, and artists at any experience level are encouraged to apply. Artists who are selected to participate in the program are awarded a $1,000 stipend. The Daybreak Arts Council intends to select at least 12 pieces for the 2024 program. Installation for the 2024 program will be October 05, 2024. 

As part of this program, the community is invited to come see the artwork at an annual Art Stroll event which is scheduled for October 05, 2024. Artists whose pieces have been selected for the program should plan to attend this event. Artists are given the opportunity to speak to the community about their artwork, artistic process, inspiration, and experiences. Artists who are unable to attend the event are encouraged to send a representative on their behalf. 

The Daybreak Arts Council has committed to purchasing at least one piece of artwork from the program each year to add to Daybreak’s permanent public art collection. Applications for Art Ave 2024 are due Saturday, May 18, 2024. Please complete both pages of this document and submit all application materials to arts@livedaybreak.com. PDF documents are preferred.

LiveDAYBREAK Community Arts are funded by Commercial Community Enhancement Fees (CE Fees) collected at the closing of a commercial property sale within Daybreak. The fees collected support community art initiatives. For resales, the fee is ½ of 1% of the sale price. It should be noted that the Homeowners Association (HOA) and LiveDAYBREAK are separate entities with different funding sources.
