LiveDAYBREAK Stories: Community Clubs Turn Daybreak Neighbors Into Lifelong Friends

One of the best parts of living in the Daybreak community is, well, the sense of community! And a great way to build this feeling of unity can be in a group of friends with similar interests. LiveDAYBREAK’s expanding list of Community Clubs makes it easy to find neighbors and soon-to-be friends, who regularly get together for a good time.

As of now, there are currently 29 different community clubs uniting neighbors of similar backgrounds and interests. More clubs are being added to the list of offerings all the time, so chances are, you’ll easily find a group of friends to enjoy your time with, no matter what you’re into.

For example, let’s say you’re looking for a group of neighbors who are also trying to live a healthy lifestyle. Club Nourish at Daybreak, run by Ada Chantelle Brooks, may be the place for you.

Maybe you’re the type who loves to crack open a cold one at the end of the day, or who is constantly in search of the latest specialty craft brew. The Daybreak Beer Club, hosted by Lisa Radke, could be the perfect fit.

Or if you’re looking for a new clan of friends to gather around the table for a game of Dungeons and Dragons, you’re in luck. The Daybreak Tabletop Gamers meet each month to play a variety of card and board games!

Those are just a few examples – others include a group for residents with special needs and their families, a Cub Scout Pack, and more!

And if you can’t find the club of your dreams quite yet, you can easily create it – with funding! The process isn’t too difficult either. You can begin with as few as five residents, as long as there are no limits due to special interests or age. Clubs also must be open for membership to all Daybreak residents with no boundaries on village or residence location.

Once you achieve official Daybreak club status, you can apply for funding by submitting an application. As long as your club meets at least once a month and at minimum 3/4s of the members are Daybreak residents, your application will be reviewed and considered at that month’s board meeting. More information on official Daybreak clubs and club funding can be found here.

As Daybreakers know, our community is built on LiveDAYBREAK’s five key pillars; Connectivity, Lifelong Learning, Embracing Arts and Diversity, Healthy Living, and Giving Back. All of our sanctioned and funded clubs adhere to at least two of those pillars, if not more.

So if you ever find yourself looking for something to do in Daybreak, we recommend reaching out to one of our terrific community clubs. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, gardener, crafter, beer drinker, book reader, teenager, empty nester, or caregiver to someone with special needs, you’ll find the place for you at LiveDAYBREAK.
