January 2020 V.A.C. Award: Michelle Single

MichelleSingleHave you met Michelle Single? She is a Daybreak resident and a member of the LiveDAYBREAK Volunteer Activities Council and recently has been awarded for being an outstanding volunteer.

If you’re asking yourself what is the LiveDAYBREAK Volunteer Activities Council (V.A.C.), it is a group of Daybreak residents that have input in the events, parties, and gatherings that the LiveDAYBREAK Community Council puts on. They’re always looking for folks to assist with everything from the planning to helping out on the day of the event. Aside from the feel-goods they get from volunteering, there are always a few great perks they get for helping out. If you’re wondering about these perks you’ll have to ask Michelle and other volunteers like her. If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet Michelle yet, she and her husband moved to Daybreak at the end of February 2019 from Illinois. She has really enjoyed the VAC because of the fun aspect and it also has been a great way to meet some of her new neighbors. Getting involved is something that works for Michelle. She previously volunteered with the Northern Illinois Pug Rescue when she and husband were living in Illinois. When she saw the information on the VAC, it sounded like something she would really enjoy doing and with it being in her backyard made things better. The variety of events the VAC does keeps everything interesting, but one of Michelle's favorite activities is the Doggie Paddle & Raise the Woof.

She has a ton of hobbies, as can be expected by someone who can’t sit still. She is a photo bug and loves the landscapes that Utah provides. She also likes to alter objects to make them more personalized, like shirts, bags, and canvases. She recently found ski biking, and has fallen in love with it! Growing up she was never one for winter outdoor sports, but ski bike has changed all that. Now, she goes up the mountain any chance she has.
