May 2020 V.A.C. Award: Melanie Ogomo

Meet Melanie Ogomo. Melanie has lived in Daybreak since December 2016 with her husband and four kids. She loves spending time at the pool, going on walks and bike rides, and loves to bake (she makes GREAT banana bread). She and her family have helped LiveDAYBREAK at many of our events including the Pumpkin Regatta, Easter Drive-Thru, Prom 2.0, and Noon Year’s Eve, but her favorite event to attend has been the Lantern Festival.

Melanie says about the Volunteer Activities Council, “I have been very impressed by the work that the VAC does. Really if you want to see a change or a new event, VOLUNTEER!” She has loved getting to know people through volunteering and enjoys living in Daybreak.

Melanie is always willing to help us with events and always seems to have a great time doing it. Recently she has been helping to execute our alternative programing including the Easter Egg Drive-Thru, which she and her family devoted their time to help with our “dancing Easter Bunny” and also filling thousands of eggs for residents around Daybreak. Melanie and her family are valuable members to the LiveDAYBREAK volunteer committee and we appreciate all the time and effort they put in for LiveDAYBREAK.
